Jordan Michelman is a journalist and author based in the American Pacific Northwest. He is a co-founder at Sprudge, the world's most popular coffee publication, and his first book, The New Rules of Coffee (with co-author Zachary Carlsen) was released in 2018 by Ten Speed Press. A second coffee book, Drinking Coffee, will debut in fall 2023 from Union Square & Co. He is the winner of a James Beard Foundation Award for journalism, winner of a Society of Professional Journalists award, and has been shortlisted at the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Awards.
Michelman's food and beverage journalism has appeared in the New York Times, T Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, PUNCH, Eater National, Portland Monthly Magazine, Noble Rot Magazine, Disgorgeous, The Stranger, Kansas City Magazine, and Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. He is a national columnist at TASTE, and the newsletter editor at Feast, the city of Portland's iconic food festival.
